Tree houses for Glenariffe?

TOURISTS visiting places like Glenariffe Forest Park in the Glens could stay in ‘tree houses’, a report says.

The suggestion is in a final draft report on activity tourism.

The report said that in 2009 forest-related tourism in the Glens contributed £4.8 million to the Northern Ireland economy which is estimated to be approximately a third of the visitor economy in the Glens.

One suggestion in the report was: ‘Build on the existing infrastructure to develop a hugely appealing camping offer - pods, tree houses and youth camping, particularly at Glenariffe’.

The report added: ‘The potential of Glenariffe Forest Park could be exploited to bring huge economic benefits for the Glens as a whole.”
