Trevor's mother Collette, family members and friends gathered at the Promenade on Monday afternoon to lay flowers at the scene where

Trevor was fatally injured.

On December 13 last year, the popular 28- year-old was assaulted outside a bar on the promenade.

He was taken to hospital but later died. A man has since been charged with the murder and three other men have been charged with affray.

Trevor's aunt, Ciara McKinney, said that there were 'no words' that could express the void in their lives since Trevor's death.

She said: "Trevor was such a lovely human being.

"His death has had such a big impact on the family and one year on it's not getting any easier

"Trevor was part of a huge family and he had a unique relationship with each of us. He was just the rock of the family.

"We just want to keep Trevor's memory alive, and that's why we decided to lay the flowers," said Ciara.

In an appeal for information about the murder Ciara went on: "We know there are people who were out that night that still haven't come forward.

"We as a family would appeal for them to get in contact with the police as soon as possible. We know that it will never bring Trevor back,

but it will give us as family some closure and some justice for Trevor."

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Harrison of the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch added: "Many people have spoken to police about what they saw that night, and I want to thank them for doing so.

"While one man has been charged with Trevor's murder, I know that there others who saw exactly what happened on December 13 last year.

"The information they have is important to this case, and could help bring justice for Trevor, and his family

"There were large crowds both inside and outside the bar before and during the attack as well as people visiting other premises in the area at that time. We need to speak to them as witnesses."
