Tributes flood in for former Ballinderry camogie player

Messages of sympathy and tributes have flooded in for a former Ballinderry woman who has died this week.

Ballinderry GAC said they were deeply saddened by the ‘untimely death’ of Marie Kelly nee Boylan who was living nearby in Moortown.

They said Marie had never forgotten her roots.

“An outstanding camogie player for Shamrocks, Marie hardly ever missed a match for the Shamrocks and always wore her colours with pride.

“Our heartfelt sympathies go to her family and family circle.”

One woman wrote: “Marie was a lady a great person, it is so sad to have lost somebody so young.

“You sure were a great camogie player and you were a great badminton player too. You won’t be forgotten Marie is up playing Camogie with her sister Pauline.

“You are a Angel Marie always will be membered. Bless all your family and your Husband and Son it just so sad.

“RIP Marie Angel.”
