Tributes paid after passing of Limavdy boy

Little Callum Logue was well known in Limavady and further afield thanks to a fund raising campaign to send him to China for treatment.

Callum was diagnosed with sept-optic dysplasia and was registered blind, although parents Emma and Gerard had campaigned to raise funds for an operation in China that the family had hoped might help with the condition.

Thousands of pounds had been donated for the treatment.

Sadly, little Callum passed away on New Year’s Eve.

Family, friends and community members paid tribute to Callum and passed on their condolences through a dedicated Facebook page.

One family member wrote: “He was an inspiration to so many people and has touched so many lives.

“Sleep tight wee man and know that you’re always in our thoughts.”

Another wrote: “Finally found your peace wee man.

“You were a wee fighter since day one but unfortunately the battle is now over.

“Happy new year up there wee angel.”

The funeral is expected to take place in Limavady on Sunday.
