Tributes paid to councillor

Spokesperson, Councillor Patrick Clarke stated: “On behalf of South Down Alliance Party Association we would like to extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to the entire McQuaid family on the sudden and very sad passing of our highly respected and esteemed Alliance colleague and friend Councillor Sheila McQuaid.”

“Members of South Down Alliance Party Association were deeply shocked to learn of the sudden passing of Councillor Sheila McQuaid who was a very committed and hardworking Councillor on Banbridge District Council who represented everyone and who was always a very committed public elected representative to her constituents,” he added.

“Indeed Councillor Sheila McQuaid was involved in many cross-community initiatives and her dedicated and selfless dedication to serving and helping others was greatly recognised given the large attendance that attended the requiem mass to pay their respects,” Mr Clarke continued.”
