Violet Maureen Thompson (née Stewart) was a familiar face at Glenavon Football Club until failing health prevented her from attending matches.

Glenavon FC said on their website: “Sadly we have to report the passing this morning of Violet Thompson. Popular with both supporters and players alike Violet followed her beloved Glenavon home and away, through good times and bad times, for many years.
