Tried to hide ‘joint’ in hand

Kevin Desmond Breen, Carrigart Manor, Craigavon, was fined £150 for possession of a class B drug on November 10 last year.

The court heard that a police mobile patrol in Lurgan saw a number of males sitting in a parked car. There was a strong smell of herbal cannabis and Breen, who was a passenger, attempted to hide a cigarette in his hand.

He admitted it was a ‘joint’ containing herbal cannabis and was for his own personal use. Mr Gerry Drain, representing the defendant, said Breen had a previous conviction for something similar but apart from that he had no other convictions of any kind.
