Trocaire coffee morning in Stranocum

IF success can be measured by increases in charity fund-raising year on year, then local woman Teresa Patton would be fully deserving of a hefty pat on the back.

For since organising a collection for Trocaire since 2010 Teresa has witnessed a steady growth in her takings.

Originally held at her home in Stranocum in 2010, Teresa changed venue this year to the local Community Hall and on Tuesday of last week locals and family members convened for a convivial chat and at the same time enjoying refreshments provided by a hard working team of volunteers.

Particularly striking was the array of cup cakes baked by Sarah Smallwood, an Americal lady whohas her own company, ‘Life is Sweet.’

Donations so far have topped the £500 mark and more is expected in the coming days and weeks.

The yield since 2010 has steadily grown and while Teresa may not see a record amount this year, she’s delighted with how the public responded.

Teresa would like to thank all those who helped organise the event and, in particular, the public for their support.
