Trust launches cancer services website

The Northern Trust has said it is working to address the information and support needs of the growing number of people who have been diagnosed, are going through treatment or are living with a cancer diagnosis by launching a dedicated website.

With increasing sophistication of cancer treatments and more people now living with cancer, many patients want to know more about their disease and what information and support is available for them. The trust says that providing relevant, high-quality and up-to-date information on the cancer services website will help people affected by cancer, and their carers to make informed decisions, and reduce unnecessary anxiety and distress.

The site has been designed to provide a wide range of information about services, including its own Benefits Advice Service, Carers’ Service and the Macmillan Information and Support Service.

In addition, the website offers extensive information and support for carer’s of patients who have been given a cancer diagnosis to ensure they receive the right information and support to care for their loved ones effectively and safely.

The website launched on Monday (September 29).

The Cancer Services website will feature under the Northern Trust external website’s A-Z of Services for ease of access for service users and can be found at the website address http://www.nhsctcancerservices.hscni.net/
