Trust launches new guidelines

Pupils and staff from local schools and the South Eastern Regional College recently attended the Launch of Work Placement Guidelines organised by the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust in the Innovation Centre, Ulster Hospital.

Presentations were given from a range of health care professionals to teachers on how work experience placements were organised within the Trust. Charter, who work in partnership with the Trust and are responsible for coordinating work experience placements, were on hand to give advice and support to both the teachers and ward managers.

Sonya Duffy, The Trust’s Volunteering Manager gave an overview of the opportunities available for young people volunteering in the Trust.

The morning was closed by Hugh McCaughey, Chief Executive who reinforced the value of undergoing a work placement to gain experience. For many young people it was the beginning of a journey to a future career in Health and Social Care.
