Trust pays suppliers quickest

In each of the last two years the Western Trust paid more than half of its suppliers’ invoices within the ten day target.

Health Minister Edwin Poots revealed that 54,032 (54.5 per cent of all invoices) were paid within 10 days in the Western Trust in 2010/11. This was far better than any other Trust with only the South Eastern coming close (51,032; 42.2 per cent).

In the current financial year the Western Trust is also paying up quicker with 23,510 (56.2 per cent) of invoices paid in 10 days.

The next best performing Trust is once again the South Eastern with 21,690 (40 per cent) invoices paid within 10 days.

He outlined the figures in response to an Assembly Question from DUP MLA Gregory Campbell.
