Trust review to be made public in two weeks

DETAILS of what sparked a major review into the management of the Western Health and Social Care Trust will be revealed on January 27, the Health Board has confirmed.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Board said that it would be inappropriate for any of the details of the review to be put in the public arena before they were put before the Board at their monthly public meeting at the end of this month.

The spokesperson said the review, which was launched in November, had been completed on December 10 and was part of its "normal oversight role of the Trusts".

Chief Executive of the Board, John Compton said: "I would also give an assurance that, in the interim, the Board is satisfied that the Trust has taken any necessary steps to address any issues arising."

The report to be presented on January 27 will include full information on the review and any recommendations arising from it, the spokesman added.
