Trust spent £250k on tea and buns

THE Western Trust bought £250k worth of tea, buns and sandwiches for visitors and staff between 2007 and 2011, it has been revealed.

Health Minister Edwin Poots released details of the Trust’s hospitality spend which dropped substantially from a whopping £109,200 in 2006/7 to just £9,500 in 2010/11.

The expenditure for 2006/7 was not available as the Trusts were re-organised on April 1, 2007 under the Review of Public Administration and information in respect of the old Trusts could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.

However, the total hospitality spend here was £257,410 for the years 2007/8 to 2010/11.

Remarkably the Trust it spent 11 times more on refreshments in 2007/8 than it did in 2010/11.
