Trust welcomes new chief

THE Northern Trust has revealed details of how its budget of just over £600m was spent during 2009-10.

Details are contained in the annual report which has been produced as a web-based document (www.northerntrust.hscni.net.)

Presenting the report Jim Stewart, Chairman, noted that most of the government and Priorities for Action targets that were set were achieved at 31 March 2010. This included targets for cancer services, elective care, children’s services, mental health and disability services and community care services.

He was particularly pleased that the continuous efforts and commitment made by staff at all levels meant that the Trust significantly reduced the rates of Hospital Acquired Infection.

The chairman also welcomed Sean Donaghy as the new Chief Executive of the trust.
