Tullylish GAC line up for 5K and 10K

Following the success of Tullylish GAC's Tractor Run, the local club look towards their next big event of the summer.

The 5K and 10K Run, which is held in association with Newry based charity Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT), will take place on Sunday June 25.

The event hopes to attract runners from near and far for what has been described as a ‘challenging route’.

Co-ordinator of the event Tom Morgan spoke about the anticipation beginning to grow around the local area in the build-up to the run.

“This event has been in the pipeline for a number of months now and everything is coming together nicely,” he said.

“We hope to attract a big crowd on the day including fun runners/walkers for the 5K as well as the long distance runners for the 10K.”

The Tullylish man continued: “It has always been important for us to give back to charity organisations and we are delighted to be donating 50% of proceeds from this event to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.”

KBRT helps families to have lost loved ones abroad to get the remains home to Ireland.

The charity was founded in 2013 and since then the trust has helped hundreds of bereaved families across Ireland.

Registration for the run will begin at 11am on Sunday June 25 and the race is due to commence at 1pm.
