Turn clutter into cash for Children’s Hospice charity

Each New Year brings with it a rash of resolutions that few maintain for the full 12 months.

However, one resolution that would be worth keeping is turning unwanted ‘clutter’ into cash for a truly worthy charity.

Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice is encouraging everyone to have a post-Christmas clear out and donate their unwanted items to one of the charity’s shops; in the city these are located at Shipquay Street and Ráth Mór Shopping Centre to help raise vital funds for local children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses and their families.

The charity is also encouraging businesses to hold ‘Stock Donation Days’, where employees can bring in their unwanted items and the NICH retail team will collect them. One organisation that has already helped make a difference is DuPont, whose staff have held a ‘Stock Donation ‘ for two successive years, helping raise over £1,000.

As the only service of its type, Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice provides respite and end of life care for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as practical, emotional and bereavement support for the whole family. Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice shops accept unwanted quality clothing, household goods and furniture and poor condition textiles for recycling.
