Congratulating CeX on the unveiling on its tenth store in Northern Ireland, Deputy Mayor Dineen Walker said: “I welcome this new investment in the borough and the job opportunities it has created.”

Congratulating business partners Stuart Dixon and Trevor Finlay on their new venture - their fourth CeX store franchise - she wished them and their team every success for the future.

Many people will be unaware that their old mobile phones and computers could end up in a landfill site, so CeX is encouraging people to help protect the environment by recycling unwanted gadgets - something which could earn them cash or store credit.

“We urge Newtownabbey to go green and save by recycling their old gadgets, games, phones and DVDs into cash at CeX. We expect to pay out over £600,000 in our first year. We believe the best way to recycle something is to use it again. We also encourage community groups to start collections as it is a great way to raise money for charity and help protect the environment,” Stuart said.

Trevor added: “Most people’s qualms about buying second hand are that there is usually no guarantee. At CeX, we thoroughly test every item we sell so we are able to give a 12-month warranty on everything. Customers have the added benefit that buying in-store means they can visually check over the item and even test it before they buy.”
