TV coverage boost puts Armoy Road Races on the world stage

Greenlight Television will produce two one-hour programmes to be shown on channels around the world including Eurosport, Fox Sports Australia and Speed Channel in the USA.

Television coverage is a bonus to any national road race ensuring fans around the world have a chance to view the action and local fans will also be able to experience all the thrills of the Armoy Races on Sky Sports in the Max Power programme and Channel 5 in Motorsport Mundial.

Bill Kennedy, Clerk of the Course and Chairman of the Armoy Club, said: “On the back of the television coverage last year, the Club received a number of calls and emails from fans and supporters from around the world. Vietnam and Dubai to name but two countries where our race was aired on television.

“Gaining television coverage is high on the list of priorities for attracting top racers and sponsors and given the fantastic response to the coverage last year it is something we’ve worked hard to achieve.

“It is just terrific for the Club, road racers, sponsors and fans alike that the Armoy Road Race in conjunction with RiverRidge Recycling ‘Race of the Legends’ can be watched from anywhere in the world, weeks and months after the event.”

Now in its fifth year Armoy Road Race has grown from strength to strength and is set for another great year. As a national road race it has attracted some big names like Guy Martin and Conor Cummins with local boys, Michael and William Dunlop having raced in the last few years.
