Twelfth in Moneymore - parade times and traffic advice

On Monday, Moneymore will host the South Londonderry demonstration for the first time since 2007.

Eight districts will be on parade – Moneymore, Magherafelt, Garvagh, Kilrea, Ballyronan, Tamlaght O’Crilly, Castledawson, Tobermore.

Fifty bands will join with the 60 lodges and proceed through the village, with the main parade starting at 11am.

The demonstration field is at Moneyhall Road. Platform proceedings will be led by Londonderry County Grand Master Hugh Stewart, who is also District Master of neighbouring district, Magherafelt LOL No 3. The return parade starts at 3.45pm.

The PSNI have said: “Non parade traffic is asked to avoid the area and plan an alternative route. The parade route will be from the Magherafelt side of the village onto the Desertmartin Road, Main Street and to a field on the Moneyhaw Road.”

They said they hoped that roads will be reopened by 6pm.
