Twelfth: Londonderry and Coleraine celebrations

However, there will be parades in the city centre early in the morning and on return from Coleraine.

The morning parades in Londonderry will get underway at 8am with City of Londonderry No 5 District Lodge forming up in Bonds Street for an 8.30am parade, with four bands, to Bishop Street in the Cityside via Bonds Street, Glendermott Road, Clooney Terrace, Spencer Road, Craigavon Bridge, Carlisle Road, Ferryquay Street and The Diamond.

At 9am or shortly after, the parade, now headed by City of Londonderry Grand Orange Lodge, will depart from Society Street with seven bands and make its way to buses at Limavady Road via The Diamond, Ferryquay Street, following the same route in reverse to Bonds Street and May Street.

Owing to the earlier start time in Coleraine, it is important that all buses leave promptly from Limavady Road.

The Londonderry evening parade will see the City Grand Orange Lodge, with seven bands, set out at 5.30pm from May Street with No 1 District and No 4 District Lodges along the same route taken in the mornign, to Palace Street, while Londonderry No 5 District and the four remaining bands will parade May Street, Bonds Street, Glendermott Road, Clooney Terrace, Carlin Terrace, Glendermott Road to Bonds Street.

Meanwhile, The most senior Orangeman in Scotland will be among those enjoying the festivities in the largest Twelfth parade in Co Londonderry.

Henry Dunbar will join more than 60 lodges taking part in the procession on the north coast, with large crowds expected to line the mouth of the River Bann to witness the colour and pageantry of the day.

Coleraine District will be joined by brethren from Limavady, City of Londonderry, Macosquin and lodges from Donegal, including Orangemen from Convoy and Newtowncunningham. Also stepping out will be members of the Ladies Association and a number of Junior lodges.

The parade will assemble at Killowen Street at 11.30am.

Approximately 50 bands, including pipe, accordion and flute, will head off through the town, via Waterside, Old Bridge, Circular Road, Queen Street, Church Street, New Row, Dunmore Street, Blindgate Street, Beresford Road, Brook Street, Bushmills Road,The Crescent and Ballycastle Road to the demonstration field at the Showgrounds.

A religious service will be held with the main address being delivered by Mr Dunbar, who is a regular visitor to the Province on the Twelfth. The proceedings will be chaired by Coleraine District Master, George Duddy.
