Twelfth VIDEO: Light showers fail to dampen spirits at Moneymore Twelfth

Moneymore is playing host to bands and lodges from South Londonderry District celebrating this year’s Twelfth.

There was a good turnout of spectators for today’s parade through the village to the demonstration field on the Moneyhaw Road.

There were a total of eight districts on parade – Moneymore, Magherafelt, Garvagh, Kilrea, Ballyronan, Tamlaght O’Crilly, Castledawson and Tobermore.

Many of those lining the processional route from the assembly point at Fairhill were armed with umbrellas to protect themselves from the light showers at the start of the parade.

However, the showers and overcast conditions failed to dampen spirits and there was a carnival atmosphere in the village.
