Two arrested following reports of suspicious activity

POLICE revealed yesterday (Monday) that they had arrested two men following calls from vigilant members of the public in the outskirts of Ballymena,

In the early hours of last Wednesday, December 14, concerned members of the community reported suspicious activity involving several vehicles in the Lisnacrogher Road area.

A police spokesman said officers were deployed to the scene and the arrests were made a short time later.

Area Commander for Ballymena, Chief Inspector John Magill said: “We take all reports of suspicious activity very seriously. If you notice anything untoward in your neighbourhood, or see unknown vehicles outside premises or on neighbouring land in rural areas, note down any important details such as a description or vehicle registration and contact police immediately on 999. Officers will follow up on your call and, as was the outcome in this incident, your prompt information could prevent a crime from occurring.”
