Two arrested for robbery in Ballymoney

Ballymoney police have arrested two men following a robbery at a shop in the Queen Street area of the town last night (Sunday 19 July). Superintendent John Magill said: “The armed robbery happened inside a convenience shop at around 11pm last night. Two masked men, one armed with a hammer, entered the shop and demanded cash from staff members. They made off from the shop with a sum of cash from the till.

“In the early hours of this morning (Monday 20 July) officers arrested two men in connection with the robbery. One man is aged 26, the other aged 44. Both men were arrested in the Ballymoney area.

Supt Magill concluded: “At present, both men are in police custody as detectives progress the investigation.”
