Two Garth Brooks shows refused

Two of Garth Brooks planned concerts at Croke Park have been refused permission.

It comes as a shock for some 160,000 ticket holders, especially given the days of queuing that took place when the tickets went on sale. 400,000 tickets were snapped up within days when they went on sale earlier this year.

In Lurgan Skelton Travel was a hive of activity in the days leading up to the sale date for the Brooks concerts, with dozens braving the elements to camp out for their tickets.

Dublin City Council have granted licences for just three concerts at Croke Park on July 25, 26 and 27. The gigs on the July 28 and 29 of the month would not be permitted.

It is the first time licences for concerts at the stadium have been refused.
