Two men charged with robbing a shop

TWO men charged with robbing a shop staff member in Ballymoney have had their cases sent to Antrim Crown Court.

John Cully (45), of no fixed abode in Coleraine and Richard John McQuilken (29), of Henry Street Mews, Ballymoney, are charged with robbing the man connected to the Vivo supermarket in Ballymoney’s Queen Street on July 19 last year when £300 in cash was taken.

At a preliminary enquiry at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday May 9 a prosecutor submitted there was a case to answer and defence lawyers said there were no contrary submissions.

The men were remanded in custody to appear at Antrim Crown Court on June 10.
