Two men charged with threat to kill

Two men have appeared in court on threat to kill charges.

Andrew Thomas Shearer (23), of Central Avenue, Portstewart appeared in Coelraine court charged with a number of offences including threats to kill relating to June 1 this year.

He is charged with assaulting two males and making threats to kill them.

He is also charged with assaulting two police officers and causing criminal damage to a police vehicle.

He is further accused of being disorderly at Glenmanus Park, Portrush.

The accused appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on June 27.

He was released on his own bail of £300 with a curfew and he is not to be intoxicated in a public place.

The case was adjourned to July 11.

In a separate case, a joiner from the Kilrea area is set to contest charges including allegedly threatening to kill a man.

Wayne Daniel John Booth (29), of Boveedy Terrace, appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on June 27.

He is also charged with causing criminal damage to a wing mirror of a BMW X1 belonging to the same man.

The accused is also charged with possession of Diazepam.

The charges relate to April 24 this year.

A defence lawyer said his client is pleading not guilty to all charges.

The accused was released on his own bail of £300 and his case was also adjourned to July 11.
