Two parades to take place on Sunday

The members of the Royal Arch Purple No.1 district will hold a parade in Londonderry this Sunday, May 8, beginning at 3pm and ending at 3.30pm.

It will travel along Society Street, Bishop Street, The Diamond, Ferryquay Street, Carlisle Road and Palace Street.

A return parade will get underway at 4.30pm, parading along Carlisle Road, Ferryquay Street, The Diamond, Bishop Street, Palace Street and Society Street, ending at 5pm. Killalloo Accordion Band will lead and around 100 people are expected to take part.

Earlier in the day, at 10.30am, The Royal Naval Association will parade, taking in the following outward route: Iona Terrace, May Street, Limavady Road, Clooney Terrace. It will last for approximately 10 minutes.

A return parade will start at 12.10pm, parading the following route: Clooney Terrace, Limavady Road, May Street, Iona Terrace.

One band, namely Churchill Flute Band, will lead the parade and few supporters are expected.
