Two pet cats '˜stolen' from pensioner

Edmond Dillon’s daughter Edwina describes the cats as her father’s ‘only company’ after his wife was recently moved to a home with dementia.

The cats, a 10-year-old Norwegian Forest cat called Tiger, and a five-year-old ginger cat affectionately called Ginger, are believed to have been lured away from their back garden during the night, after two cat food packets were found in the garden.

The cats went missing from their home in Forthill Avenue, beside Abercorn Primary School, between the evening of Friday December 11, and Saturday December 12.

When Edmond went to feed the cats in the morning he discovered they were both gone and the food packets were lying on the footpath in the backyard.

Edwina commented: “My mother has just been admitted to a home with dementia and my father was robbed by someone pretending to help him with his trolley in Supervalu car park, and now the cats are missing, so this is the icing on the cake.

“My father called me to say the cats were missing, he told me, ‘I went out to feed them and they’re gone’. They haven’t been seen since.

“There was a Norwegian Forest cat sighted in Seapatrick, but we had a look all round Seapatrick and didn’t see anything.

“They are both neutered males,” Edwina added.“My mother adored them.”

“The two Whiskas pouches were lying on the footpath in the backyard. It seems to me like they were just stolen.

“I’ve been onto everybody about them, Cats Protection, USPCA, I’ve put it on Facebook.”

Edwina added: “They are much loved family pets. Daddy is very distressed about losing them. They are his only company now he’s living in the house on his own.”
