The case was due to go to trial this week but Craigavon Crown Court heard on Tuesday afternoon that Kevin McCartney (28), who is originally from Enniskeen, was pleading guilty to murder.

Daniel McCartney (21), originally from Enniskeen, pleaded not guilty to Mr Neill’s murder but guilty to his manslaughter.

A third man Deividas Neimontas (18) from Enniskeen pleaded guilty to affray but the murder charge was left on the books.

Both Daniel and Kevin McCartney, who gave his address as Antrim Road, Belfast, were remanded in custody. Neimontas is on bail.

All three will be sentenced on April 3.

Mr Neill’s daughter Kirsty Cahoon, who held her dad as he lay dying, said her family are hoping justice will be done.

Kirsty Cahoon was just 19 when her dad was stabbed to death.

Kirsty, mum Cathy Cahoon and sister Nicole Neill were left devastated.

“The whole family has been through torture since my father was murdered,” Kirsty told the Lurgan Mail.
