Two week drive ban

A 26-year-old takeaway delivery driver has been fined a total of £300 and given a two week ban from driving at Ballymena Magistrate's Court for motoring offences.

Ryan Samuel Neill McFadden of Cullybackey Road in the town admitted the offences, which occurred on October 25, 2009.

At last Thursday’s sitting in Antrim, he was fined 50 for not having an MOT certificate, 200 for driving without insurance, and 50 for not displaying R Plates.

District Judge, Desmond Perry also banned him from driving for 14 days.

A solicitor for McFadden told the court that he was responding to a phone call from his partner “in distress” when stopped by police.

He added that his client now has insurance for his vehicle.
