Two weekend burglaries in Limavady

TWO burglaries took place in Limavady over the weekend – one at a hairdressers’ salon on Linenhall Street and another at a home on Catherine Street.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said that detectives were appealing for information about both crimes: “Detectives are appealing for information following a burglary at commercial premises on Linenhall Street, Limavady last weekend.

“Sometime between 4pm on Saturday, August 11 and Monday morning, August 11, a hairdressers salon was broken into at the rear of the property and a number of items stolen. Six GHD hair straighteners, a 32” Panasonic flat screen TV, a pay phone and a ‘Sharp’ till, both containing a sum of cash were among the items stolen. Three charity boxes containing cash were also stolen. “

The PSNI spokesperson added: “Detectives are appealing for information following a burglary that occurred in Limavady on Saturday, August 11.

“It is believed a house on Catherine Street was broken into during the early hours of Saturday morning and a 32” Toshiba TV was stolen.”

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or knows of anyone selling the stolen goods in suspicious circumstances to contact Detectives at Limavady station on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
