They will also advise on avoiding health complications associated with diabetes, such as heart disease, kidney failure, stroke, amputation and blindness, through good management of the condition.

Experts will give workshops on the practical elements of living with Type 2 diabetes, such as diet, exercise, medication, travel and driving.

Florence Findlay White, Diabetes UK Northern Ireland National Care Advisor, said: “These events are a great way to get detailed expert advice in an easy-to-digest way, as well as being an opportunity to meet other people living with Type 2 diabetes.”

Places are limited so those interested in attending the event must register online at www.diabetes.org.uk/lwdd or call 028 9066 6646.
