East Tyrone Magistrate’s Court heard how Francis Collins, 69, from Castleview Crescent in Omagh, was stopped by police on the A4 just after 3pm on March 10 after being clocked 30mph above the limit.

Mr Blaine Nugent, defending, told the court that his client had a broken starter and had been told he could get it fixed if he got to the mechanic in Portadown before 4pm. He required the car for work.

District Judge John Meehan handed down a fine of £200 and a two month driving disqualification.
