At the scene he was heard to state: “It wasn’t me. I wasn’t driving.”

A small amount of cannabis was found on his person and he admitted to having smoked some of the drug that day. He refused to provide a breath sample.

He further admitted being a pedestrian on the motorway on June 6.

Despite the defendant’s wish to waive his right, District Judge John Meehan adjourned the case for sentencing on November 25.
