HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) officers searched a business and a private address in the Omagh area this morning (August 2) where they seized cash and business records relating to the fraud.

Mike Parkinson, Assistant Director, Criminal Investigation, HMRC, said: “HMRC takes tax fraud extremely seriously and anyone deliberately choosing to evade the taxes they owe should expect not only a heavy fine, but possibly a criminal prosecution as well.”

The woman was questioned by HMRC and has been released on bail. Investigations are continuing.
