Although the Health and Safety Executive is investigating the circumstances, it is believed Mr Allen fell from a wall on his Quilly Road farm while working with silage.

He was an elder in nearby Carndaisy Baptist Church and a past secretary of the Moneymore Bible and Crown Defenders LOL 93.

Retired pastor Winston Jordan, who will speak at the funeral, said the whole community had been shocked by the tragedy.

Mr Jordan described Mr Allen as “a lovely person” who had very strong Christian beliefs.

The funeral service will take place in Carndaisy Baptist Church at 2pm on Sunday, followed by burial in St John’s Parish Churchyard, Moneymore.
