25 NW police received written warnings

TWENTY-FIVE PSNI officers in G District received written warnings between 2010 and 2012 for a variety of offences.

Fifteen Superintendent Written Warnings were issued for officers - ranked Constable or Sergeant - who failed to investigate an incident.

Three warnings were issued regarding handling or property; a further three for failure in duty; one for failure in professional duty; one concerning an officer’s integrity; one for discredit on service; and one for failure to supervise.

A further eight officers (Inspector, Sergeant and Constable rank) who were attached to G District at the time of misconduct hearing were the subject of formal discipline between 2010 and 2012,

One officer faced charges relating to integrity (two charges) and professional duty (one charge).

Another faced charges relating to police investigations (one charge) and duty of supervisors (one charge).

A third faced charges relating to police investigations (two charges) and professional duty (one charge).

And two separate officers faced three charges each relating to professional duty.

Of the three remaining officers one faced a charge relating to integrity; one faced a charge relating to detained persons; and one faced a charge relating to professional duty.

The PSNI released the information under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act.
