47 calls to farm fraud hotline

FORTY-SEVEN calls have been made to a fraud hotline manned by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) at a cost of £227 per year.

Farms Minister Michelle O’Neill revealed that between 2009/10 and 2012/13 forty-seven calls were placed to the hotline.

She stated: “The Fraud Hotline cost the Department £227 per annum. This equates to £681 over the last three years.”
