Foyle MLA William Hay said: “I know that she’s very keen that as many people and groups as possible come along, to hear about the various funding pots that are available, and how they can go about drawing down that funding.”

The Waterside meeting will be a useful exercise for those who wish to find out more about accessing the EU’s myriad support funds.

These range from the familiar Interreg, peace and cross-border programmes, to rural development, fisheries and business and economic innovation funds.

Mr Hay said: “I’d encourage as many people as possible to come along. This will be good opportunity to learn how to negotiate the different application processes in order to access funding.”

Mrs Dodds was elected as DUP MEP for Northern Ireland in June 2009.
