Crime gang raid safe from city arcade

The five person gang forced their way into the rear of the Four-of-a-kind amusement arcade in Tullyally before hauling out a heavy safe full of takings and making their getaway just after mignnight on Sunday (October 6).

A spokesperson for the PSNI said detectives are appealing for information in relation to the burglary at business premises in the Church Brae area of the city.

A heavy duty safe was taken after a rear door was forced open by five people who made off in a car.

One of the proprietors confirmed to the Sentinel that the loss had been substantial. He told the newspaper that the five raiders had been captured on the stores’ CCTV, although all five were masked. Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area between midnight and 1am on October 7 is asked to contact Strand Road CID on 0845 600 8000.
