Londonderry’s Digital Champion and CultureTECH Director Mark Nagurski explained: “Other Voices have created a really simple brief which outlines the kind of ideas we’re interested in.”

The Other Voices music series, produced by South Wind Blows, is filmed each winter at the tiny, historic and very beautiful two-hundred year old St. James’ Church in Dingle.

This year to mark Londonderry UK City of Culture 2013 it was filmed in the old Presbyterian Church in Great James’ Street and featured performances from Bronagh Gallagher, Soak, Little Bear, Damian Dempsey, Beth Orton, Savages and Marina and the Diamonds.

Mr Nagurski said it was a great opportunity for anyone with an interesting tech idea.

“Anyone can submit an idea - whether it’s already being developed or not - and we’ll bring the top six to Derry to tell us more in front of a live audience,” he explained.

“Other Voices will then pick two overall winners, who will receive 5000 euro each and the chance to work with Other Voices to develop their ideas further, before heading down to Dingle in December to put them into practice,” he added.

“The cash prize is obviously great, but for a startup technology company - or just someone with a smart idea - the opportunity to work with Other Voices, get access to world-class artists and showcase their technology to a global audience is the real incentive,” concluded Mr Nagurski.

Submissions are invited in response to the briefing document as posted online at www.culturetech.co/challenge until the deadline date of noon on Friday, June 28, 2013.

A judging panel will select an estimated six shortlisted projects who will be invited to present their ideas to Other Voices and a live audience as part of the CultureTECH festival in September.

Following Other Voices Dingle in December, the two winners will also get the chance to showcase their efforts at a major industry conference in early 2014.
