DUP concerned over border buses
The DUP says cross border travellers who previously used Northern Ireland Smart Passes on the Lough Swilly Bus route are no longer entitled to free travel.
Councillor Hilary McClintock said: “I have been in touch with Translink who advised that whilst a temporary licence is operating to provide a service in the area, this does not include free travel for senior citizens from Northern Ireland travelling into County Donegal.”
She confirmed that she will be setting up a meeting to discuss this further since the tendering process for a permanent operator for the service could take several months.
