Hub split across three city centre sites

A proposed new social enterprise hub will be split across three sites in the city centre, the First and Deputy First Minister have revealed.

The administrative base for the ‘Co-operative and Social Enterprise hub’ will be located in The Diamond.

Retail bases will be located at 19 Carlisle Road - a former estate agency adjacent to the Methodist Church - and 27 Ferryquay Street, formerly home to a French Connection outlet.

The Ministers stated: “It is proposed that the Derry-Londonderry hub will be across three locations with the admin base at The Diamond and the retail bases at 27 Ferryquay Street and 19 Carlisle Road.

“Leases have been agreed for the premises that will be used for the hubs, and on January 15 contracts were awarded to local delivery agents to deliver the social enterprise incubation programme across eight of the nine Social Investment zones.”

Meanwhile, an application for permission to convert the former French Connection store into a restaurant has been newly submitted by Just Fresh Foods Ltd.
