Ilex headless for 79 per cent of its entire existence

The Londonderry regeneration company, Ilex, has operated without a permanent Chief Executive in position for 79 per cent of its existence.

Of the 130 months it’s been responsible for regeneration in the North West, Ilex, has had a boss in post for just 103: 27 bossless months.

The First Minister and Deputy First Minister’s (OFMDFM) were asked by DUP MLA Gregory Campbell “how many years has the Ilex Regeneration Company had a Chief Executive in post?”

The Ministers replied: “Since Ilex Urban Regeneration Company was established in July 2003, the company has had Chief Executives in post for a total of eight years seven months.”

The Londonderry regeneration company that was established alongside the Strategic Investment Board (SIB) in 2003 most recently operated for a significant period of time following the departure of Aideen McGinley in late 2012.
