It features Kathleen Gillespie, whose husband was blown up by the IRA in a proxy bomb attack at Coshquin in 1990, which also claimed the lives of five soldiers, as well as Anne Walker, whose uncle was killed by paratroopers on Bloody Sunday and who became a quartermaster in the IRA.

‘Far Side of Revenge’ documents the work of Ms Sepinuck’s Theatre of Witness, which gives voice to those who have been marginalised or forgotten. The film brings insight into a process of creation where pain is counterbalanced by the joyful bond that deepens between the women over a nine-month period.

Under Ms Sepinuck’s guidance the cast reveal emotions that can only now be explored in post-conflict Northern Ireland.

“Under Teya’s direction this project is an adventure in human relations that surprises even the performers of this most unusual form of public expression,” said Pauline Ross of the Playhouse.
