‘A Man for All Mediums’ is billed an unprecedented exhibition of Mr O’Doherty’s work and can be viewed from August 29 to Sept 22.

It will be launched by Professor Ciaran Carson on Saturday (August 31) at 7pm.

An accompanying catalogue and seminar by John Fitzgerald documenting the artist’s work is also scheduled for September 21 at 7pm.

Born in Londonderry in 1939, Mr O’Doherty passed away in 2011.

He is responsible for some of the most famous works of public art on the island.

‘The Emigrants’ (1990) were originally located in Waterloo Place but were recently located to the Quay in Londonderry.

Equally, his Anna Livia statute - commissioned for Dublin’s Millennium celebrations in 1988 - was moved from O’Connell Street in 2001 to make way for the controversial spire.

‘The Floozie in the Jacuzzi’ can now be found in the Croppy Acre Memorial Park.
