SOUTH African Portuguese-style chicken specialist Nando’s Chickenland Ltd. has applied for permission to erect a window shutter at a proposed new store in the Richmond Centre.

The firm behind the eatery, which will serve Mozambican food, also wants to install a plant at roof level, at Unit 4, Level 1, of the Richmond Centre, which opens onto Shipquay Street.

Plans have also been lodged for the “installation of louvre to shopfront at Unit 4, Richmond Centre.”

During the summer the Richmond Centre announced via social media: “We have some super exciting news folks! How would you like to have the restaurant that serves the best flame-grilled Peri-Peri Chicken in the world open right here in the Richmond Centre??? It’s official, Nando’s is coming to Richmond!!! Woo hoo!!!”

Nando’s has stores in Belfast, Dublin and Cork.
