£3.12m pot tobuild peace

THE Arts Council will hold an information session in Strabane on Thursday (March 7) to tell local community groups how to get their hands on share of a £3.12m pot of EU money being injected here to build peace and combat racism and sectarianism. The event is scheduled for the Alley Arts Centre at 2pm.

The ‘Building Peace through the Arts – Re-Imaging Communities’ programme was launched last week in the Playhouse in Londonderry.

It will support the delivery of 80-100 community-based projects across Northern Ireland and the border areas over the next two years, offering grants of up to £15,000 for small projects and up to £50,000 for larger-scale projects.
