PSNI asks people not to touch suspicious objects following bomb alert

THE PSNI said nothing untoward was found following a bomb alert in Londonderry on Wednesday (November 6) but asked people not to touch suspicious objects and to contact the police. The bomb squad was tasked to an area of Londonderry near the border following a report of suspicious activity.

The Buncrana Road, Coshquinn Road, Whitehouse Road and Groarty Road were closed for a time due to the police operation. All roads have now re-opened.

The area affected is home to a number of schools, a sports complex and a retail park.

Police conducted a search of the area following a report of suspicious activity.
