Refugees and asylum seekers sought for cathartic theatre

REFUGEES and asylum seekers who have suffered violence, mental health issues, forced exile, poverty or sectarianism are being hunted for a cathartic theatre project in Londonderry.

The Playhouse Theatre of Witness Programme is seeking personal stories from residents of Northern Ireland who have either sought or offered refuge or safe haven as it creates its upcoming production called ‘Sanctuary’ in November.

The performers will include refugee and asylum seekers and providers.
